Electrical Services
The Central Romana Corporation generates its own electricity through the use of three turbines and nine generators. The electric turbines are located at the sugar mill, where they generate electricity with the steam produced during its sugar production process. The three high pressure steam turbines have a combined electrical generating capacity of 20 megawatts. The rest of the electricity is generated with nine fuel-oil generators, which utilize Fuel Oil #6 and #2. With the three steam turbines and the nine fuel-oil generators, Central Romana has a total generating capacity of 55 megawatts. Its electrical services are utilized not only by the company itself, but also by all the tourism related projects of the Central Romana Corporation with the exception of the La Romana Free Trade Zone.
